I use queer and feminist theoretical lenses to understand how LGBTQ communities of color sustain their everyday lives and well-being amid social and political death-making conditions.
I have three distinct but connected areas of research.
1. Using community-engaged research approaches to explore how queer and trans Asian American social movements create life-affirming practices and institutions


2. Advancing the conceptualization and application of queer and feminist of color social theories (e.g., queer and trans of color critique theories, critical refugee studies, critical race theory) to mixed methods public health research
3. Examining the effects of intersectional oppression on the mental health and well-being of minoritized populations
